Skills
I bring a unique set of skills and perspectives to engineering design. These skills can be separated into technical and soft skills.
Technical Skills
Technical skills are my abilities and knowledge acquired from my engineering education that is required to perform a specific task related to the design and implementation of a technical solution. These skills include my proficiency in programming languages as well as my understanding of different engineering principles and theorems. These technical skills are critical in engineering design as they allow me to develop and evaluate solutions with technical requirements.
Some of my technical skills are:
Strong Fundamentals of Math
Strong Understanding of Physics Principles
C (Programming Language)
Python (Programming Language)
JavaScript (Programming Language)
ANSYS (Engineering Simulation)
MATLAB (Numeric Computing)
SOLIDWORK (Computer Aided Design)
Soft Skills
Soft skills on the other hand are skills that relate to how an individual interacts with others and manages projects. These skills often correspond with the values I bring to my practice that provide my unique perspective in engineering design.
Some ways I demonstrate these values in my work are:
My passion for learning and exploring different fields of engineering can bring fresh ideas and new perspectives to the team.
My open-mindedness and my value of continuous learning show that I am open to new experiences. In an engineering design team, I am willing to suggest and take on challenging tasks.
My value for personal growth will encourage me to take on the more difficult tasks in a team environment to gain the satisfaction I need.
My ability to communicate effectively can help the team collaborate better and bring out everyone’s strengths and skills.
My creativity allows me to think outside the box, to come up with more ambitious ideas.
As I gain more knowledge and experience, I’ll further reinforce my values while shaping new ones. My skills will also start to specialize in a specific field of engineering. Those skills will be valuable in engineering design as I will be able to contribute to more specific tasks within a team environment.
